Now I'm sure that its got alot to do with the whole expat package thing, but come on ladies, these guys would never get the time of day in NYC and they know it. How does Singapore society look on this, what do the ladies' families think about this and more importantly, how can the ladies "be" (u know what i mean), with these guys??
Have you heard of the term “social escorts”

As for Sing women not being shallow...uhhhh, I think Sing has the highest Louis Vitton Bags per capita in the world.
*tsk tsk tsk* sometimes these LV bags you see could be fakes :P

Interesting that you brought up the subject of fakes. I was researching on purchasing designer bags online and found out that most are fakes. It is a jungle out there.

SG has very strict laws against counterfeits so SGeans would have to obtain it from overseas. Anyway, no respectable SGeans will want to get caught toting a fake bag. It is too damn embarassing and I can just imagine what they will think "if you can't afford it, then don't fake it. Designer goods are not an absolute neccessity". I am not saying only the wealthy are entitled to designer goods. In fact, most people whom I know who own designer bags are not wealthy at all.

Uhhh...what happened here. I'm always amazed at the direction these forums take. I ask about white men/asian women and get a dissertation on designer hand bags.

Lets get back on subject folks, any comments from you asian guys about this??

newhere, you are not an ungly american. The only crime you are guilty of (in this particular thread) is for voicing your opinion (what you really think). You could still have those thoughts and not voice it out and be free of all these accusations. I think Americans with true American spirit and understand the essence of what it means to be an Americans are beautiful (not ugly).

Don't know what has got over me lately, got biten by the designer handbag bug and am now on the quest for the perfect "it" bag . What is a stay-home-mom to do these days with the dark gloomy cold winter? Sigh! Your understanding in this matter will be greatly appreciated. And now if you will excuse me, I have to go get ready so I can accompany my hubby to watch his Imax movie.......... more sigh. The last time we saw Imax in SG my maid threw up, I got a headache and the 2 old chinese aunties (sittiing next to us) fell asleep with mouths wide open (snore, snore).

Newhere, as you know it takes all kinds to make the world. If fat white man (who's a loser back home) meets and takes up with local nubile, slim chick and both know the score, who can fault them? Kind of you scratch my back and so on. At least it's honest unless 1 party is really deluded and then we have a whole different story.

Where are the Asian men to answer the rest of your question?

I'll take a shot but I'm no man (and to the best of my recollection have never been one ever). I guess some get pissed off and some don't. Similar to how some soul sistas feel about brothers and white women.

What a thing to compare, Pattaya's gal and Singapore ladies?
1 you can get it cheap and other not all can afford.

Even the main pick up line is diff.
Pattaya, you come look for me at what what what disco at what what time.
Singapore, I go pick you up. (You better be driving a car, and lorries, vans better keep at home.)

Newhere, I believe everywhere is the same, be it men or ladies.
All going for different "things". i.e $, looks, careers etc etc. Personalitie put a side first cos no 1 will go for a begger with a very good personality.
For example, take a good look at our manager's avatar.
You think a good chap will go for it? The other way round, dun think she will go for an ugly poor good chap either.
But if you are a fat ugly but rich old man. Tell you, your chances will be higher. Ofcos you must be willing to spend lah.

Just my 2 cent worth of opinion.

Welcome to Singapore.

Newhere, i sent you my thought via a PM as i don't want to fan the flames of Sing vs West on this issue. However, i would also add that 15 years ago it was a whole different scene in that while some of the Malay girls would date western men, most of the Chinese would not. Now what you see is kind of a free for all, and as unseemly as it may at times appear, it is certainly better than the opposite. "Love is in the air..."

Life is soooooo unfair, I finally get an honest answer from Wham (one of my favorite groups by the way) and it's via a private message. Such honesty, such self-awareness....you the man.

I understand all your comments and agree with all your observation.

Newhere, glad to be of help and cut to the chase. Most people just don't like to hear the truth and would call me insensitive, etc. Where in NY you from?
