When I turned 59 and knew that I could not always depend on my employer to provide health insurance, I decided to go with International Health Insurance which is a company owned by BUPA. I like it for several reasons" First it is very highly recognized by hospitals. Finally, it covers every where in the world including the US. The cost for me (63 yo) is US$,2,600/year with a $1,600 deductible.
I'm a PR in Singapore, and I'll keep IHI health coverage until I'm at least 65 at which point US Medicare kicks in. However, that covers me only in the USA, so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Regards,
Rob
