Post by harish » Wed, 28 Jul 2004 12:48 am

HI,
I am an indian and planning to take job offer in singapore. I am married with one kid and have an IT experience of over 6 years in Network and enterprise management i.e. IT Consulting.
I got an offer of 4000 S$ for an organisation in singapore.It is 1 year contract with the company.

I would like to know what is the minimum house rent , taxes, food expenses, bonus criteria, rental car (decent car), home cooking or hotel food, medical expenses etc. and finally would I be able to save atleast 60000- 70000 indian Rupees per month.

Please reply me with information at the earliest..

Hello currency conversion wl answer question for u

Post by Guest » Wed, 28 Jul 2004 8:29 am

U want to save 60 to 70 k rupees a mth
That on current conversion rates would equate to 3k Sing $
With a salary of $4k you wd only have $1k for everything else
So do u think u can survive in Singapore on $1k for a whole month?
Need I say anymore?

well friend saving 3K out of 4K is not possible. but if you can 2k is a good savings.

house= 1000$ Max
travel= 200$ Max ( 2 elders + 1 kid)
Food= 300 to 500$ (Cook at home)
tax = < 10 % per annum
Kid = studies ? how old is you kid ? 200$ per month

But, savings of 6 Lac (2K per month) for a year. Out of this 6L, you might spend for 1 Lac ( including airfare/gifts) an year. So effectively 5L. Going so far from home and saving 5L ? i guess you should get 8L per annum in india now ? weigh the personal / profession factors before you take any decision.

Finally negotiate for a better salary :)

Best of Luck

Get a Better Deal

I also feel you should negotiate for 5000K. With a family and $4000 salary is not very fair for 6 years exp.

The company i underpaying i guess.
