Check out this poll.

The Afghan public ocerwhelmingly rejects the Al-Qaeda & Taliban
and Strongly Supports US and International Presence

Begs me to ask, WHY DOESN'T THE NEWS MEDIA report THIS story?

ok, since nobody else will answer, i will answer. It is much more fun bashing the US than reporting the success of the US. Furthermore, the news media is generally controlled by left of center interests and much of what we get served as news is written by leftist journalists (how many conservative businessmen do you know that studied journalism) - and both parties fan the flames of US hatred with their anti-us propaganda.

mmm... interesting to note that of the 2089 respondents 50% are listed as illiterate - makes you wonder how well they understood the questions??

a very good point. Of course, under the Taliban most of the schools were closed and women were forced to stay home - so what could you expect.

Isn't it ironic that the staff of "World" Public Opinion doesn't' come from around the world. I think this is like your "World Series".

Look, no one is saying Taliban and Al-Qaeda ought to be given roses for what they condoned and have done. BUT, unilateral invasion and occupation in the name of God (or value of humanity) is another wrong that doesn't make one right.
The arrogance was what squandered away the WORLD's goodwill in the aftermath of 9/11.
Goatboy will always cherish his former goatgirl.
But the world is full of fluffier ones.
