Hey there,
In Australia you need to get a referral to see a gynacologist as they are considered specialists. In Shanghai it is not necessary. You can make appointments with them directly.
Can anyone tell me whether it is normal practice in Singapore to see a GP in order to obtain a referral to see a gynacologist?
Also...I am new to Singapore and need all the recommendations I can get for GP's and gynocologists.
Hope you can help.
Cheers:D

Yeah.
You can book an appointment with the Gynae directly by calling up the Clinic.
There's one gynae @ Jurong East (if it's not too far for you) central. The clinic is called Jurong Woman's Clinic. The gynae is only there on Monday evening. He is very patient, very good and very detailed.
He has a specialist clinic @ NUH too.

My hubby and I are planning for a pregnancy and I am not sure if I should choose Dr Adrian Tan or Dr W.C. Cheng. Anyone has experience with these 2 doctors?

I'd heard that the website of some hospitals in Singapore allows you to choose and make appointments with the specialists that you want. Maybe you can try to search for them.

My recommendation: Dr Han How Chuan from KK Women's Hospital. Senior gynae, male, about 40 years old (don't know if age matters to you girls but I tend to be afraid that old doctors are less competent)... extremely reassuring and very popular, so got to book in advance!

Apple Eye Centre. I think they have a few locations. You need to see an Opthamologist, not an optician.
