Hi,
We are considering buying an apartment in Singapore. We are really tempted to buy something in 99-year lease projects like Pebble Bay and Costa Rhu. The price/ sq. ft is significantly lower than freehold buildings and I can afford to get a larger apartment in same budget. Now I donot mid if the market value of the property to depreciate a bit since I will be saving on rent. However, if liquidity in the market is affected as the propert ages - well I'd be concerned. What happens to 99-year leases at the end of the lease period? How does the value of property depreciate - straight line? Any advice would be of great help.
Thanks
MM
