How log does it take to change from LPR to PR?

Is it possible in one week?
after I landed in Singapore, rent a house, maybe I can only make a rent contract for 3 month, then I fill in form, receive the mailed card?

It will not be possible to get done in 1 week. You need a 1 year (minimum) rental contract, proof of utility connection (electricity + water) and proof of telephone connection to prove relocation. Remember that all these require extra deposits since you are not a PR yet. Alternatively, if you have a Sg job, you only need an employment letter instead of the above 3. You will also need the medical exam papers.

Once these items are collected from at the ICA office, they will tell you it will take 8 weeks to process your case. It will, however, only take 3-4 weeks usually. So there you have it: 1 week to get your papers ready + 3-4 weeks to get final approval = 4-5 weeks. Good luck.

Would age be a big issue in getting LPR ?? According to one requirement is that those 50 & below would be acceptable but heard news that age could be a big issue in Spore but would ICA think otherwise. Any truth in this??

Thanks in advance.

Liberto,
I wouldn't know the answer to your question. You should call up either ICA or SMC (who act the agent for LPR cases) to verify. They are very helpful. My feeling is that ICA tends to be practical about most issues and if you can prove that you will be able to contribute to Sg's economy significantly, they may make an exception.
