Renting an apartment in Singapore

Hi all.

What is the cheapest accomodation/apartment I am likely to get in Singapore. I've heard that one-bed HDB rentals can go for as little as 500SGD way out of town. Is this true? I would even settle for a studio and I am looking for a long-term lease (ie: 3 to 4 years)..

I'm just looking for some ballpark estimates.
