Information in a Book/ Magazine

Post by No Borders » Tue, 10 Jan 2006 6:49 pm

Hi there,

we will be moving to Singapore next month, and have been back and forth a few times to 'familiarize' with life in Singapore. But i'm wondering....

Is there a book/ magazine that would give complete information (or a bit of information will do) that will be very useful for expats especially new comers?
Such as school, clubs, kindergarten, courses, sport centers, restaurants, doctors, dentists, tailors, dressmakers, churches, mosque, what to do, society, etc, etc...

in short, all you need to know and to get by when you're in a new place.
(yes, there's the thing called 'yellow pages', but how would one know if the company has good reputation, it's pricing structure, etc)

I know we can always depend on this website, but sometimes it's easier to just open a book/ magazine.

If such book exist here, can anyone tell me where to get it? I've browsed Kinokuniya and Borders but have no luck...

many thanks...
