Child car seats?

Post by Elise » Sat, 07 Jan 2006 7:47 am

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the law is regarding child/baby car seats and harnesses?

We're arriving at the end of January and plan on taking a taxi from the airport to our hotel.

Our son weighs 12kgs - will he be ok in just a car seat belt?

Thanks for any help
Elise

http://www.spf.gov.sg/seatbeltfaq/

Taxi exempted from child seat law. Roads are relatively safe and speeds relatively low. Nothing to worry about.

Car Seats Always

Although roads safe and drivers reasonable, may I suggest you buy a lightweight booster seat which is "weight free" on most airlines, and pop your child in that. I have a 13 kg child and when travelling and using taxis I prefer a booster to normal car seat - for convenience without diminishing safety.
