The 360 is not yet officially available in Singapore. Any units here would be the ones specially imported from the USA, and therefore horribly overpriced.

And even then, the XBox 360 has waaaay too many bugs right now (overheats, crashes, scratches disks). I'd wait for the fixed versions to come out... or the PS3. :)

XBOX japan

There are 360's around in Singapore for approx 650 Sing $. ( yahoo SG auctions These are the Japan versions ( NTSC J). There are a few games that are region free so will play on all 360's
It wont be long before the mod chips etc come out and then all games can be played.
Most xbox's on USA ebay are going for about US$ 500+ so this above price is pretty good. Do make sure you go for the premium package thou.

Good luck

Then again, when PS3 comes out, it'll be wise to apply to it the same wait-for-bugs-to-be-ironed view...

Word in the industry is that it's far from being ready, with release date just 2 months away! Either delayed, or released with bugs intact...

Update

Post by bigfilsing » Thu, 12 Jan 2006 4:24 pm

Well it would seem there are few issues with the XBox 360's None to big but. a pain if you're not technical enough to fix. There fore imported sets are a no no. I'm still going to give one a bash. hee hee

Guess the best thing to do is wait for the Singapore ones to come out so you get local warranty if anything does go wrong.

According to some reviews i've read they are some good reasons to go with the Xbox 360's as they will interact with the new Windows OS coming out this year. Means your xbox could be playing your MP3's and videos before long!!!
I also rate the team of hackers of the Xbox. and have high hopes of them hacking the 360. There's already some chips out. I'm not interested in copy rip off games but i would like to get rid of the region coding and run Linux on the 360....
:D
