Synopsis:
Following the success of Maria Full of Grace at last year's Oscars, the international appeal of Colombian films have significantly risen in the past year. "Love on the Edge of Reason" is an inaugural festival of Colombian films, presented jointly by the Consulate of Colombia and The Arts House. Through the stories of lives and times of the people captured through the lenses of Colombian filmmakers, these seven seminal feature films, two shorts and fragments from the earliest films since 1957 captured on archival DVD format will reveal, for the first time in Singapore, gritty aspects of the country's stirring history and colorful culture. Of particular note would be La Vendedora De Rosas (The Rose Seller) which won more than 14 awards including the Golden Palm at the Cannes and Diastole and Systole: Movements of the Heart (Diastole Y Sistole: Movimientos Del Corazon) which won Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the Cartagena International Film Festival in 2004.
