Advice on Shipping Companies

Hi there

My boyfriend and I will be relocating to Singapore in February and wonder if anyone has had experience of shipping their goods from the UK to Singapore. Any advice? What companies would you recommend? What sort of cost would we be looking at?

Also any advice on estate agents when we get there? We plan to stay in a Serviced Apartments for 4 weeks or so until we find something.

Hi Katie,

We are moving from the UK as well, me in two weeks then my wife and son a few weeks later. We are using a company called Excess International Movers. so far they have been the cheapest, had good reports from other people using them to Singapore and they do groupage consignments, meaning that you do not have to book a complete container for around £3K!!, you can share someone else's.

We are shipping our sofa, chairs, bedroom furniture and personal items for around a third of a full crate price, door to door.
