Yes and No.

If the Department thinks you are marrying to get PR then they will not approve the application.

Don't think it is automatic to get PR if you get married either - not by a long shot

Conditions for registering for marriage:
If one of you is a Singaporean/PR and spouse-to-be is a foreigner -
If the foreigner spouse-to-be is a work permit holder or ex work permit holder, please check with the Controller of Work Permits, Ministry of Manpower. For application or information on eligibility to stay in Singapore after marriage, kindly check with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.

If both of you are foreigners -
At least one of you (not both) must have resided in Singapore for 15 days continuous days before you may file a notice of marriage. Eg. If you enter Singapore on 1 August, a 15 days period will be 2-16 August. The earliest date you may file a notice of marriage is 17 August.

Each to its own, but yours is impressive.

Definitely only me, but I'll find it ridiculous to move because of a relationship, but what do I know :)
Can I say that a man is defined by his career (somewhat)?

R&L, you know what they say right? Behind every great man there is a woman. (Don't know how true it is though but most old saw's are usually based somewhat in truth.
