SIA vs Qantas. Kettle calling the pot black?

I think it's akin to Airbus vs. Boeing :D

Mr Howard: "Qantas is operating as a fully independent, freestanding company without any government support or subsidy, that is not always the case with foreign airlines, including Singapore Airlines."

In 1992, the Federal Government paid off $700 million of Qantas's debt when it absorbed Australian Airlines.
Mr Forshaw said the protection of Qantas on the route amounted "to a hidden subsidy".

What do you think?
Goatboy will always cherish his former goatgirl.
But the world is full of fluffier ones.

It seems that Qantas is afraid of the competition that SQ will undoubtedly provide and possibly have an edge over and Qantas is merely making feeble excuses in her bid to protect the coveted profitable route.
One man's meat is another's poison.
