I want to make a one-day or two-day trip with my friends. Can anyone comment about these two places? Which one is worthy a visit?
Thanks in advance

I would have to say i had the worst ever holiday of my life at Batam!
If you are sick of Singapore, go to Batam for a weekend. It will make you realise how lucky you are to be living in Singapore!

Depends how much money you got.
Batam resorts are good and generally cheaper yet becuase of the bad rep put on Batam by SPH and all disgruntled single 30 - 50 somethings Singaporean females you might not get a social approval of your trip.
Bintan on the other ahnd offers the same sort of resorts but is way more expensive but does not have the bad rep so more people will go "Wah you go Bintan weekend - So nice lah. Nice" when you get back to your office.
Why not go on a trip to one of the nearby Malaysian Islands instead. Cheaper then Bintan but nicer lor

Agree with Bafs - Batam has a bad rep.
I've been to both, but I still have to say I prefer Bintan.
And the sultans - yeah the sultans

Agreed wholeheartedly. Stayed at Harris Resort Batam. No electricity for nearly the entire time we were there. Which meant, the card key system for getting into rooms wouldn't work either. Oh yeh, it was great (sarcasm).
Go to Bintan.
Or, go to Batam if you want to feel really good about yourself for living in Singapore.

Well, I have been to Bintan about 4/5 times and to Batam only once. Simple reason, the crowd on the way to Batam are shall we say...offputting ? that says alot about Batam! Nevermind that its cheaper massages, hair cuts, food, resort...etc we would still vote for Bintan. We stay at the Bintan Lagoon Resort - comfy, relaxed and nice. And oh yes, the crowd you go with on the ferries...much more civil!

I have had some great stays in Batam. Clubs there are much bigger and better than Singapore. Bands are better, at the smaller venues. Food is cheap.
The hotels i've stayed in are 4star for about S$60-$$100. A good weekend if you want to party hard.
I think Bintan is more of a relaxing weekend. Nice beaches but Singapore prices, might aswell stay here.
