I don't have any first hand experience of the Bhavan's, but I have heard different things form various places...
Our neighbours have just sent their three-year-old there, and they are very happy with it.
As a whole, the school does very well academically in IB tables. I have heard that the teachers are strict and have extremely high expectations - whether this is good or not is obviously a matter of opinion. A quick browse though the staff pages shows the teachers are all extremely well-qualified, most with masters degrees or higher.
Have you been to visit? If you haven't yet, a good thing to watch for is the other children (moreso than the teachers in some ways I think). Kids don't fake happiness or efficiency the way adults can, and this is a real eye-opener sometimes. It could provide an insight into whether or not your child would be happy there anyway.
Apparently, there are buses that come in from Malaysia with Indian expat families sending their kids to the school, so I guess that could be a good sign (either that or an indictment on schools in Malaysia...)
Anyway, as I said I have no first hand experience so this is all second hand. The best thing will be to visit, I think.
