Superb scene from a superb actor. I met him on the elevator once. This dude oozes charisma like you won't believe. No air whatsoever, but, wowza, what acting chops.T2K wrote:"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tannhauser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost ... in time, like tears ... in rain. Time ... to die." Roy Blatty (Rutger Hauer) / Bladerunner

"They've done studies you know; 60% of the time it works every time"-Brian Fantana, Anchorman.
This is far too long to write but it's full of bits me and my friends still quote to each other 21(!) years later... http://youtu.be/YKRFlNryaWw
And finally pretty much every scene in Airplane and Blazing Saddles!

Two of my favorite lines
A leader, like a shepherd,he sends his fastest nimble sheep out front and the others will follow. While the shepherd,he walks quietly behind it. He has got the stick, and the cane,he'll use it If he has to. But most times he doesn't have to. He moves the whole herd quietly.

The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino.

Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement.
What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere. -- Cobb, Inception.
A more resilient one is one that doesn't write 3 posts of bollock$ in 5 minutes.ktw1990 wrote:What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. That kind of parasite gets zapped for good, very very quickly, as I suspect you will shortly witness.
I don't get what's your problem. Yes I'm new here but I've replied to all my posts with thoughts and consideration, except for maybe this one which I'm just posting a direct quote but many others have done the same. You made me feel like new people are not welcomed on this forum and I hope that not all people are like you.

They aren't, but we do tend to watch those who post 5 or 6 rapid posts when joining, for no other reason than to a) spam our regulars with solicitations via the PM function, or b) only post enough posts in quick succession just to replay to somebody in the forum only to never be seen again. This is especially true with locals as, after all, this IS an expat forum. Hopefully you are not of that ilk.

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers

Sir, that fix is right to the point. Cheers to human intellect. Here's another Inception quote:nakatago wrote:FTFYzzm9980 wrote:If only everyone could be as intellectually inciteful as you, JR8.JR8 wrote: That was a movie quote?I thought it was search engine spam!
They say we only use a fraction of our brain's true potential. Now that's when we're awake. When we're asleep, we can do almost anything. --Cobb
Too bad it doesn't make a difference to some people whether they are awake or asleep.

'Inception', I've not heard of the film, and it's probably because it's some vulgar high-budget Hollywood 'blockbuster'. Seriously though I don't think I've seen a US blockbuster that's worked for me for quite a long while now. Last attempt was Jonny Depp in some vampire skit, and I had no clue really as to what was going on... great success
