Sprained ankle

What would you do after having a sprained ankle?
I at the moment just put ice on it...

My mum would bring me to a Chinese Sensei (sp?) to massage the ankle, quite a painful process though..., my best bet is going to the hospital/general practitioner here I suppose?

If you are sure you do not have broken bones, then keep it bandaged. Iced for 24 hours , rest . Use hot pack after 24 hrs. Best to buy an ankle guard from the pharmacy and use it when moving around for the next few days
Do not massage. It may make it worse if done incorrectly

I had a badly sprained foot. Stay off of it, ice and bandage. Use crutches, cane to get around. But the main thing stay off of it.
I went to Changi for xrays to be sure it wasn't broken and that's what they told me. I was out of work for 3 days and on crutches for a week. Take care.
