Yup, it's pretty decent in a "build you cities and research technologies to go wage war" sort of way, but gets boring quickly. If you want to focus on civilization building, get the latest Civilization game. If strategy combat is more your cup of tea, get Dawn Of War. AoE3 tries to be both, but doesn't do either of them well.
"Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

Billy G disabled installation on Win2k even though the game runs perfectly well on it. A sign of things to come.

Sorry, was referring to AOE3, not D3. The ability to violently massacre ugly creatures is still available to all :D

Ooh, you don't know what you're missing, girl!

Terrifying effects (not only visual ones), excellent storyline and the "flashlight or gun one at a time" just makes this a masterpiece!

I find it quite impossible to enjoy the game if u can't even accomplish the basics such as: walking around?

I went to the official AOE3 website yesterday.. i felt that the plot wasn't very good. And it was based in the timeline (1600AD?), which isn't my particular favourite... I want to play games with the good old time periods where man has not even the gun yet.

Is Age of Mythology good? I haven't gotten around getting that yet...
