Tsk, tsk. Your moniker and attitude speak volumes about the pathetic little life you must lead. I'll bet you're the sort of person who never sees his glass as being half full because yours is
always empty.
You've made very few posts so far but it's no great surprise that all of them have been negative just like you. So wtf are you still doing there? Do all S'poreans a favour and go back to the hell hole you call home and submerge yourself up to your eyeballs in "creative flair!"
P.S. You're right about the government. They've got your number alright.

London seems OK now. Bermuda's system was 100% VERY scary and few here even trust the Police. It felt clearly 2nd. World and near 3rd. World with the Police and corruption. The lack of justice spooked me about Bermuda.
My question is:
How is Singapore any different?
Have had offers there, but after living in Bermuda -- I'm very spooked.
Please advise!!
Cheers
Not quite sure why you were so spooked by the police in Bermuda or any police in general. I spent several months there once and actually saw Bermuda run like a model of efficiency. Fact is quite a bit of the Bermudian police force is recruited from the UK. I had a friend there who was married to an Englishman who worked for the Bermudian police force. Of course, Bermuda is also a tax free haven and lots of lucrative offshore accounts are parked there and I'll leave it to your imagination to decipher what you want from this.
I've also lived in the US and police corruption isn't unheard of either. My point is if you have reason to fear the police for whatever reasons, then no, Singapore is not the place for you. Law and order is taken seriously here and when in Rome..... Cops here aren't corrupt for the most part unlike many places in the world.
One man's meat is another's poison.

But many Singaporeans are well educated enough to go and live abroad where they are able to earn a substantive income - do they have no creative flair? Singaporeans may travel the world if they so wish, they may work abroad if they so wish, educational courses are their choices, they may choose their employment, they may socialize with foreigners if they wish. Alright the government is stricter than most but there is difference between that and no freedoms as you put it.

You have obviously never been to North Korea where people starve, and you can be arrested for merely sitting on the statue of one of North Korea's leaders. Hardly compares with Singapore does it?

you really think singaporeans who migrated abroad care about their homeland? absolutely NOT! They're much happier to have migrated than live in this sh!thole. many singaporeans tell me if they have sufficient funds they would migrate also. now whats up with that?
why do you think singapore has one of the highest emigration rate in the world? we expats come to singapore because the govt thinks foreign talent is way to go but what about the locals? dont the citizens deserve something better? more freedom of expression and their needs? yes we can live in a strict society and have nothing to worry about. everything seems pretty automatic yet is that fair to ones life? obviously not!
talk about creativity, what is so special about singapore? can you name a prominant singaporean figure who disigned the the art centre? or the next stadium? or big office tower? or a singer? a actress? a fashion designer? i dont think so. lot of which are done by people like you and me and rest by the singaporean govt. with that citizens still fall out. i hope you get my point.

Did you practice bear-baiting in a former incarnation? Engaging in these debates is the equivalent of teasing the monkeys at the zoo (and of course, since there is a reaction for ever action, they are hurling feces at you).
