from Aussie to SG

Post by jase » Mon, 21 Nov 2005 10:03 pm

hi all! in a few weeks, we'll be headed "up-over" from Aussie to Singapore to "settle" ...

any recommendations as to just about "everything" ...? we hope to be able to keep up with our sports like tennis, pool, cycling n stuff, plus also keep to things like jazz, and some fun stuff to do in the tropical isle that we hear this is! [altho' we know now is the monsoon! :(]

oh well. just some tho'ts we wanted to ask about.

cheers! :D

Jase, if I can presume that you will be coming here on a better than average salary, you will be doing all that right in yoru own condo.

Jazz can be found in town - along Clarke Quay and other spots - it's a tiny island, so getting from a to b won't be a major hassle.

Monsoon season? Not really - more like rainy season - but that also makes it that little bit cooler . . . like right now.

Welcome to Singapore, learn to love it, learn to be baffled by it and but most of all just learn to accept it as not being exactly like home.

I've been here only a few short months from Canada and the above quote is probably the BEST thing I've heard yet about adjusting to SG.

:D

We arrived from down under almost a year ago. Valcluse is correct, accept Singapore for what it is, and you'll settle in just fine. Rain, being from OZ, you have probably forgotten what it was like. If you have any questions, there are quite a few of us always willing to help out with settling in isssues.
WELCOME!
