Speaking of the humble spud (not not you Sapphire

) yesterday I made begedel aka Malay potato patties. Delicious even if I say so myself!

I have a fondness for potato latkes. The New York Jewish Deli variety, served with applesauce and sour cream.
Most cultures have a version of this, don't they?
And the dumpling. My husband's people either call them Peirogis or ravioli...
