Post by den » Mon, 14 Nov 2005 10:54 am

My computer with WindowsXP can't recognize this printer, cabel is ok, give message unknown device. Something wrong with USB drivers?

Long time never update my computer, anyone know what means SP1 or SP2 for WindowsXP?

1. Download the drivers for your printer, or install them off the CD that came with your printer.

2. It's called "Service pack". Try a google search.

Printer drivers installed, twice. Something wrong with Canon-Windows connection. What type of software ServicePack? Patch for Windows?

Yes. Run Windows Update.

Hey den, guess the usb device drivers are corrupted in your machine there is no problem with printer and the device software. This happens when you plug out the usb device without proper shutdown.

Try go to device manager and reinstall them using your existing winXP package. No need to use the new service package as there are still some serious bugs in it.
