Too painful for words

Post by JCBB » Thu, 09 Dec 2010 5:31 pm

i also can't stand the idea of having so many needles poking into my skin .. it seems to painful!

I went with a friend to for a session at a local chinese clinic in Tampines ( it was very cheap, but i can't recall the cost) and i didn't dare to watch. He said that it felt like fire ants attacking. Now what do fire ant bites feel like, i don't know and i don't care to find out either. Not unless they make me as slim as Christy Chung here http://mybeautywonderland.files.wordpre ... gegirl.png,lol.

Rather lose the weight and relax at the same time at a slimming centre than to suffer the pain of needles :) has anyone been to a good one and could share your experience? Are the cold or hot wraps uncomfortable?

i know of many really good chinese tcm doctors. they do perform accupuncture but they said those that advertise accupuncture slimming is mostly fake. the only possible one is the one that poke near the ear to make u not want to eat so much.

i had a relative entered SGH ward recently for burns. Opposite us got one girl she kena stomach burn. she told us she went for accupuncture slimming. the person in that accupuncture slimming centre duno use what light on her with the needle. then stomach kena scorched.. had to go for skin grafting. she couldnt have her money back and was considering suing the center. but they said many people do no problem only cos her skin too thin.

all doctors will either tell u not to eat alot or exercise to burn the calories of more than what u eat. accupuncture is not key to everything related to health. if like that, then there wont be ben cao gang mu liao.
short cut way and expensive way is liposuction. just not accupuncture.

My opinion: it doesn't work

It's more of a mind over matter thing to be honest.
you believe you will lose weight, you might, because you are more aware of it. They say the needles are poked at certain pressure points and joltz of vibrations travels down, however i read that the pulses are not strong enough to actually cause the break down of fat molecules.. (actually even before i read that i already knew fat cells would not chane cuz of this)

but still um.... mind over matter.. if it "works" for some.. congrats. I rather save my money since i already know scientifically it wont work, it MAY though.. increase your blood flow since it's causing some damage, blood flow may change your metabolism, but not increase it so much that u will burn fat.

Think about this, if it were to "slim down" your tummy.. why wouldnt everyone do this for face? Instead this acupture is actually for the skin. Hence why some ppl do acupture for the face, it creates blood circulation in the face trying to "repair" the damage. Skin may be "glowy" but the face will not be slimmer, or the fat in your face never changed.
