My wife and I are both British citizens and have been relocated to Singapore for work.
After a visit to the embassy, because both of us were not born in the UK, our baby if born outside the UK will not be automatically entitled to British citizenship.
The embassy advice was return to the UK to give birth, its proving to be a logistical nightmare, my wife is the breadwinner, so she has to take 4 months off because of flight restrictions etc, we need to rent a house in London for 4 months etc.
The alternative is to give birth here and apply for British citizenship the embassy warned us that there is no guarantee of a success. Our baby will be born “without a state”
