Conversational Malay courses are held in the Community Centres

Malay teaching language schools

Postby pinkhippo » Thu, 10 Nov 2005 4:52 pm

Hi

I just recently completed a course on Simple conversational Malay at the community club. Not bad. It's about $98 for 9 sessions and it comes with a booklet and 2 cd-roms. The teacher I had was very friendly and make the lessons very fun.

I can now understand and converse a bit in Malay.

You may want to check out www.pa.gov.sg for more info on such language courses.

sure can speak ...but i'm not a teacher in profession. LOL

that's a brave move WIMH.. :D sure can be corrected to the proper bahasa melayu. Most people here do speak malay in a street talk manner but it's better to learn the right way . If you don't mind here goes-

selamat malaam. saya tak tahu cekap melayu. ini ada guru melayu?

(Good night.I do not know how to speak malay. Is there any malay teacher here?)

-Selamat malam.Saya tidak tahu cakap melayu.Di sini ada guru melayu?

cheers,
YG

(Selamat malam WIMH.Jangan lupa gosok gigi sebelum tidur.)

Eeks! A bit harsh there Eric!
It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
