My advice is study the book... there are some tricky questions!

Yes, book study is good... remember the numbers... like the age for requiring a child seat. On the other hand there are some not so tricky questions, like this one from my test (You get one hour, I did it in 12 minutes with review).

You drive through a puddle of water and get your brakes wet. You should:

a) drive up hill to get the water to drain out.
b) drive fast to air dry the brakes.
c) pump the brakes to dry them.

Hee hee SE, I had that question too. It made me laugh out loud during the test then had to bite my lip as I was sure that laughing is not approved of during the test. It was hard though, imagining all these people driving around trying to find a hill in Singapore to dry out their brakes!!! I'm sure it added another five minutes to my test time and the others doing the test must have thought I was nuts!

The other question I got that was a beauty was this one:

You should not drive with the interior lights on as
A) it uses up fuel very quickly
B) it dazzles the drivers of oncoming vehicles
C) it reduces your external vision

Just as well the others were a bit tricky or I may have failed for laughing too much.

make sure you remember these :
~ the board signs
~ the rule of yellow lines and white lines along a street
~ the traffic police signals
~ just read through the book 2-3 times

There's this book, if i'm not wrong the name is ACE, you can get it at Popular bookshops. This book is quite handy, because it includes all the example questions, with the answers too.So you can try to test yourself to gauge if you're ready for the test or not. Anyway, just put yourself in a position that you're a very careful and patient driver (even though if you're not )

The most, you can only answer maximum 4 questions wrong, or else you won't be able to pass the test. Good luck guys...

Well, Mrs 'Cluse and I sat for the test - bought the booklet a week before and read a bit while we were moving house.

Completed the test in 10 minutes (mrs 'Cluse in 8 ) and Passed.


Quite simple, straightforward and logical if you have been driving eitehr here or overseas before.

A few questions pople seemed to have in common (they are all different and they seat different ethnic groups next to one another - to cut down on cheating, I guess) :

Parking/Stopping distance from fire hydrant/bus stop/corner
Police hand signals
SINGS!!!
The obligatory wet brakes
