Hi,
I am looking for some info about renting a
condo in singapore - especially the average amount that is required as a deposit for a condo.
Can that amount be negociated?
Also, I have heard that typical tenancy agreement are for 2 years. is that fairly common?
Thanks
Jag

Deposit I paid on the
condo was two months rent.
The tenancy agreement is for two years, but can give a months notice after I have occupied the
property for 1 year if I move on... Its pretty easy getting a place at the moment, but make sure you have the cash flow available to cover the deposits on services, cable, apartment as you have to do when you are a foreigner.

Dear Jag,
The standard deposit for :
1 year lease - 1 month deposit +1 month advance rental
2 year lease - 2 months deposit + 1 month advance rental
Take on a one year lease first, so that'll save you from bargaining of deposit which is normally non-neogotiable.
Cheers
