Good Day everyone!
I have found a job in singapore as a technician. My S pass application was a recenltly held ( not yet approved ) by MOM. They are questioning my educational qualification per employer's information
I am a graduate of a three year diploma of technoloy here in Philippines. I have a total of nine years work experience. Would you think my educational qualification be a problem for the issuance of S pass? My salary is within the required salary level for S Pass.
Need your inputs and shed me light on this.
Thanks and hoping for your valuable inputs.

guess with your working experience should not be having any problem, but make sure that no false information is given in the form.
As the first time employment pass approval, every application is sent back to the individual consulate for verification. Not sure but in most of the cases.
On the salary front, 1800 - 2200 s$ should be more secure to get an S pass, where the company appyling doesnt has any bad background.
wish Uget your pass approved soon. cheers.

Thanks for the reply Scorpion.
I just recenly talked to my employer and asked what is the specific problem why my S Pass was held. He told me I should not have place the the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering ( undergraduate ). The BSEE course is my second course which I was not able to finished yet. I am a graduate of 3 year Diploma of Technology specializing in Electrical Technology. Well, this is my first time to be emplyed abroad, really do not know the do's and dont's of S Pass application.
My question is how long does it normally take for an appeal to have a result. My employer told me that they filed for an appeal. Second, does the "undergraduate " thing really will matter in this case.
Hoping for your favorable response.
Anyone, please share your valuable inputs.
Thanks and best regards.

Hi julesdom,
Some of my colleg'z carry both an 'S' or 'Q' pass with an diploma. Only consideration that it should not be your first job after college.
If you have an working exp of 1/2 years in your proffesion, there should be no prob's @all.
Anyway, appeal takes around 2weeks. They should call the employer for an interview within so.
cheers

Thank you very much again Scorpion!
At least I have a reason right now not to really worry. Specially that I have already resigned from my present job not knowing of this current problem with my S Pass application. Moreover, my future employer is doing thier best to have my application approved. Hopefully, all will turn out favorable for me.
Kindly pray for me.Everthing will turn out alright. Please!
Thanks and best regards.

Hi Scorpion!
I finally got my S pass application approved. My employer informed me that everything is alright. They mentioned about IPA or In Principle Approval. With that, does it mean I can start working or I need to go through some other process to get my S Pass? As I read through MOM website, it mentioned that one must go to medical examination. Am I right?

Hi Ma-ri-a!
If I am not mistaken, it took almost a month for the employer to get a positive result from MOM. But it included already the appeal process because they have to do it since my application was rejected the first time they applied for it. I think for the S pass application alone ( without appeal process ) will take only two week time. They informed me about the rejected result two weeks from the time I sent to the employer the required documents.
Are you also applying for S pass? I advise you to be careful on the entries in the application form when filling it up. I think they are very strict on that.
Good Luck!

Congrats julesdom, getting your pass approved.
The IPA is the initial letter sent from the MOM, this can be used as entry pass to singapore also. As this is your first job in singapore you will have to do a medical examination that can either be in singapore or in your country (only selected centers).
So once you are in singapore can apply for the S-pass with the IPA and the medical letters. It takes mostly around 1-3 days and most important thing the payment at the MOM shall be done only through the NETS or Cash card.
cheers.
