Anyone got any advise on how to get involved in volunteer work in Singapore?

what type of volunteer work?
I only know for SPCA, I called them and they send me the volunteer form (hehe, haven't return back to them)
Or simply head down to Pasir Ris Farm 1 - there's an animal sanctuary called mettacattery that welcomes volunteers. Go there during the weekend so that you can meet a lot of other volunteers. Mainly they'll need your help in cleaning the place, feeding the animals, or simply playing with them.
Not sure for other volunteer work though..

Was thinking of something more along the lines of helping people like orphans, homeless, etc. Maybe I'm in the wrong country for that kind of volunteer work

Hello HouseHusband,
Try the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre.
http://www.nvpc.org.sg/
U'll find heaps of volunteer opportunities. Feel free to contact the organisations listed.

Hello HouseHusband,
Not a problem!
Oh yes there's another one, the National Council of Social Service.
http://www.ncss.org.sg/ncss/index.asp
U can also try googling for ''volunteer opportunity u're looking for' + 'singapore''. Some organisations do have ad-hoc volunteer stuff if u're not looking for long-term stints.
Enjoy!

Contact ANZA. They do lots of volunteer works and there are several charities they support. You can try to call 67331215 from 10-3pm. The organization is run by all volunteers. Not only Australians and New Zealanders are members. Their members also include several other nationalities.
There are also lots of trailing spouse husbands as members or volunteer workers. At least you might be able to join them for sports or entertainment besides volunteer works.
