I just moved here 2 weeks ago. Orchard area is nice shopping however I am looking for second-hand(used furniture, such as King size headboard, entry-way bench and coat/umbrella, and office furniture, and a 35" T.V.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Try moving sales - also you can go to Cash converters or similar.

For new items, avoiding Orchard area will already help you saving quite a lot.

Geylang, MacPherson Road areas has heaps of 2nd hand shops selling household items. You can check the newspapers under Garage Sale and the addresses are all listed there.

You can also try our Classifieds Section for 2nd hand items for sale.

can also try looking at The Straits Times newspaper classified ads for any garage sales going on

Harvey Norman. Frankly I think they've got the best deals. Try the one at Suntec City.

if you go to supermarket Cold Storage.. can try looking at the pin-up board advertisement for people who wants to sell their items.It's situated near the counter area.
