Has the world gone mad

Post by ringo100 » Mon, 17 Oct 2005 11:31 pm

I've just read Mr Mugabe received large applause at the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation meeting in Rome. Have they gone mad? This man is deliberately starving his own people.

While western countries have got protectionist policies towards agriculture the US and EU are discussing reducing subsidies. And who said they should have to buy other peoples food anyway.

I would presume Citizen Deek would have applaued him as well - Mugabe representing the face of a frightningly rising Africa, where human rights are kicked with bovver boots, but hey - as long as the West takes a back seat . . .

I can attest from first hand experience how badly Mugabe has managed his country and looked after his people (Not forget the mistreatment of the Nedebele tribes).

If they applauded him maybe it was a case of mistaken identity lah.
