There was a time when it was open to people. The US Embassy. In 1997/98, there used to be the marines night on every last Friday of the month. Basically, you go there from 5 to 9. Drink lots of cheap booze, get free pizza, play some pool, make some new friends and stagger out and proceed to get drunk even more at other places. You cant buy to take out. You have to consume all alcohol at the premises itself. Since the 1998 Nigerian bombing, they have stopped these activities.

I am not sure if post 9/11 and other events they are continuing to have these events.

The American Embassy still holds the Marine nights about once or twice a month. I have gone a few times and the beer is indeed quite cheap. The Marines run their own bar and let me tell you, it's impressive!! But these Marine nights are not advertised to the public but to a few different companies...unless you get invited by someone. It's worth the time to go and check it out..
