Ban Turkey for a loooooooooooooooooong time!!!

Post by Vaucluse » Sat, 19 Nov 2005 4:33 pm

So, it's all been decided and Trinidad & Tobago did it!!!! Brilliant.

Nedved came back and got the Czechs through.

Aussies clipped the miserable Urugayans.

Switzerland beat Turkey

Spain scraped in again

Should be fun, fun, fun by the time the draw comes out - England, Holland and Italy are not guaranteed a top seeding so we could see such great games like Holland v Germany or England v Brazil in the first round.

Turkey - should they be banned for their pathetic display of bad sportsmanship, wilful attacking and wounding of Swiss players, coaches and newspeople? Turkish security forces and coaches attacking the Swiss . . .

Nationalism and pride is one thing, attacking and wounding people is something completely different - I guess the Armenians can attest to that, by the bullets of the butcher Abdul Hamid, I believe, as can the Kurds and Cypriots.

I love the country and it's people, but when they behave worse than animals and self-destruct because they lost a game . . .

This begs a bigger question - do we want a country like that as part of the European Union? Judging by their recent past and present, the answer would have to be a resounding NO.

Ban Turkey from the next two European and World Chamopionships.

Eric:
I will be more than happy to look you in the eyes with a big smile coming summer when history repeats itself in Muenich

I blieve that history repeating itself will show a Germany win, my dear Nederland-Freund :D just off the top of my head - what was the score at a certain WORLD CUP FINAL???? I believe Holland lost that one as well . . . Ho-hum . . .

YG
Some time ago, I know, but in 1988 Marco van Basten, Then our GOD, scored the fantastic 2-1 against Germany (poorly defended by Juergen Kohler) in the semi-finals of the European Championships in Muenich. Germany out, Holland in the Final, beating Russia 2-0 and becoming European Champions.

I invite you to watch a potential Holand - Germany game this coming World Cup at any place here in Singapore (or Germany itself? :D ). Marco van Basten is now our coach and I will be more than happy to look you in the eyes with a big smile coming summer when history repeats itself in Muenich... :D :P

Hup Holland Hup!!!

Eric
well that was 1988! The new God believes Germany will win.
Oliver and his magic hands will keep the balls out.
No problemo will watch the game....so u gonna look like an orange? (Germany ? hmmm the new stadium in Munich is beautiful than the Olympiapark Stadium! @well i could even show you around the beautiful Munich city! :P :P )

:D :D

Rose, I'm glad that you are so confident . . . (much more confident than I am . . . )

What I always find amazing is how smaller countries can and do field teams that often beat the larger countries - - -yes, Eric . . . like
Holland with its 20 million and Germany with its 75 million in football
New Zealand with its 4 million and England with its 60 million in rugby
Australia with its 20 million and India with its 1.? billion in cricket

etc etc . . . It makes the whole thing interesting - love world sports! (Sorry, but baseball and american football don't count - though Ice Hockey does!)
