Flying to Manila with Tiger?

Post by newgirl » Fri, 07 Oct 2005 12:47 pm

Hi

I am heading off to Manila, flying with Tiger and was wondering if anyone had flown with them to Manila (Clark) airport? I know it's a good 1.5- 2 hours into Manila itseld from there, so I was wondering how easy it was to get a cab. Any advice?

Cheers

Hi I would definitely not recommend doing that, once in Clark you are AT LEAST 2 hours from Manila, depending on traffic. And if a cab accepts to take you to Manila it will cost a lot!

Why don't you go via Jet Asia direct to Manila?

Hi

Thanks for the tip- I'm aware how long it takes but the flight was cheap as chips so could not resist. I've been to Cebu before and a 50km journey took over three hours! I was wondering roughly how much a taxi would cost

Matney- tell Peter the Pilot I'm sorry to have gone over to the dark side. Needs must, I want to see my friend's baby asap

I just checked, the taxi would cost you around 3000 pesos, so that's roughly 90 SGD. I thought it would me more. But it's confirmed by a friend who lives there so you can assume it's correct.

I've flown there a number of times. The airport is very basic with no actual taxi stand. What you can do is speak to the people at the Hertz desk for a price. But it may be worth getting a taxi to the hotel strip along fields road 5 mins away. and booking a ride with a travel agent either in a hotel or along the strip. Going rate is 2000 peso one way. Find a friend and then split.

You could stay up in Pampanga though, Bagio, Hundred Islands, Subic. All good.

hi,
i'm also flying off to manila via tiger on november 17th. in the slimmest chance that that also is your departure date, maybe we can share the taxi ride out to the city from the airport. i'm a filipino from south of the philippines but familiar with the place. let me know.

Sorry SK

It was last weekend!

Surprisingly, the journey was hassle free and the taxi to Manila only took 1.5 hours. I wouldn't like to get delayed there though- make sure you take lots of food/drink just in case- nothing there!

60SGD each way- my friend organised from Manila though, so that could explain why it was a wee bit cheaper.

Thanks, good to know, so that's about 2,000 pesos one way. Quite cheap!
