US citizen wanting to move to Asia

Post by evb5145 » Wed, 05 Oct 2005 4:41 am

Hello!

I am a United States citizen living and working in the US. I am 41, single, male and of Chinese descent. I am interested in working and living in Asia, hopefully for a long time. I have more than ten years of US work experience in software engineering, development and programming but interested in changing careers. I'm interested in doing something else in Asia. Because of trade between Asia and the US, perhaps there are jobs that require travelling between Asia and the US. Because of outsourcing, perhaps there are jobs that require familiarity with business and life in the US. Having lived in the US for a long time might be an advantage for these kinds of jobs. Please serious replies only. Thanks in advance.

Software is pretty much a commodity here these days unless you have specialized package skills such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc. Pay isn't that hot, and more importantly, unless you do have specialized skills, getting an employment pass would be a chore.

What do you want to start as a new line of work? Consider and Entrpepass.
