Hey all,
This is a strange question, but here goes...
I will be relocating to Singapore in the next few weeks. I am an amateur photographer, and have many of my pics (including artistic nudes) on my laptop. I understand that pornography is outlawed in Singapore, and while none of my pictures are anywhere near that, they may be objectionable to some. When I arrive, will customs check my laptop? Are such images permitted?
On a side note, how does Singapore control the flow of pornography with the internet being as pervasive as it is?
Thanks!

No, they are not permitted, but Customs has far better things to do than snoop through your laptop looking for nekkid pictures (unless you're an opposition politician).Anonymous wrote:I will be relocating to Singapore in the next few weeks. http://www.playboy.com is blocked and you'll be slapped with big fines if caught sneaking back porn DVDs from Malaysia. Other than that, anything goes and you can surf to hot-underaged-xxx-goats.com all you want. (Note to the authorities: that site doesn't exist. I hope.)On a side note, how does Singapore control the flow of pornography with the internet being as pervasive as it is?
Speaking of naked people, Singapore has loosened its attitudes recently -- I saw Bertolucci's The Dreamers last weekend and was gobsmacked, not so much at the movie itself as by the fact that it was allowed uncensored (if R-21'd).
