I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure that all 7-11 stores are company owned... no franchise stores. Don't know about Cheers.

If I'm correct, the Cold Storage Group operates the 7-11 outlets here. So you could give them a buzz in regards to acquiring franchise rights.

Hi, thought this topic is quite interesting .. so decide to participate..

Actually the exhibition for the Global Franchising and Licensing has just ended a few weeks ago.. I did not have the chance to attend.. however one of my business partners did attend this exhibition couple years back. There are many infos provided on how to become a master franchising and normal franchising.. for the cost, requirements, benefits ..etc

Basically franchising cost depends on the brands and also depend whether you r going for Master franchising or normal franchising. Difference in both is that as a Master franchising, you r able to sell or sub-lease the franchise rights to another entity. And it depends on the geographical location .. some places allow only 1 master franchisees while some allows more .. Just like for example, Mr. Johnny Andrean bought the Breadtalk Master Franchisee right in Indonesia for no less than $1million. So he is allowed to sub-leased the Breadtalk franchisee rights to other people in Indonesia/jakarta.. He will then earn a certain royalties from his franchisee shops.

But both master and normal franchisees will eventually have to pay royalties to the main company. And the % is derived from the revenue and not the profit.. So u sell 100 breads, u have to pay royalty of the 100 breads regardless whether u r making $$ or not..

If u dun have $1million, can try to go for Old Chang Kee Master Franchisee. It is around $200k..

However no more Master Franchisees available/open for Singapore.. Unless you r referring to the opening up another market elsewhere.. Or if u r bringing elsewhere brands to Singapore..

7-Eleven is originated from USA. Dairy Farm bought over the Master Franchisee of 7-Eleven for Singapore market. So it is able to sub-lease the franchisee of 7-Eleven in Singapore.

Ultimately if u want to know more details on the cost, it will be best to contact Dairy Farm directly. I am sure they are able to provide a more accurate and informative data.. :D

Hope this info helps..
Do PM me if you want more info.. will try to help if i can 8)

Best of luck!
It sure will do the economy good if many people are getting enterprenuer nowadays!

But i do need to hear from someone who have actually franchise "7-11" before, eg the pro, con, what to take note....etc...
