Hiking In Malaysia, Weekend

Postby MangoCar » Tue, 20 Sep 2005 9:52 pm

Have a plan to go hiking in Malaysia on some weekend, prefer to departure on Sat afternoon and come back on Sunday. Unfortunately not familiar with such kind of places in Malaysia. Is here anybody interested to join me for a discovery journey?
This coming weekend is a bit rush...but maybe still can, and any other weekend except the first 2 in Oct too.
Cheers! :)

Leaving on Saturday afternoon and come back on Sunday, is very rush . .

How far do you intend to venture . . ? ?

Some nice and short treks in Malaysia, are too far away from Singapore . .

There are some very interesting treks in Singapore too . .

Perhaps we could go next Saturday (1 October) morning for a walk to MacRitchie or Bukit Timah? Though more probably 8 or 9 October.
Just follow this forum and you'll see FOREST WALK topic soon!

I'm also keen to go hiking to Malaysia, incl. Sarawak and Sabah...
No idea how is it with logistics in e.g. Taman Negara, Endau Rompin - how to get there without too much hassle, where to stay etc. I've seen some websites, but a first-hand experience would help! :)
Is any good hiking option (and easy to get to) in Indonesia?

Tangerika, MacRitchie has monitor lizards, have pity on me and organise the walk at Bukit Timah please? What's wrong with 1st October itself? Been pestering you forever now! :(

Err . .

Don't think next Saturday is fine . .

9 October, we have volleyball games . .

8 October @ MacRitchie = Sounds good. Might be possible, but can it be not so early . . ? ?

Dounut got a problem getting up early . .

Endau Rompin

Been there before, you need to have a guide and arrange your own transport in . .

Is about 2 hours off road drive from the main road.

Should be able to get more information if you need . .

Ophir

You can take a train, than bus to the entry point. Or go from Tankak . .

Tankak got the Best Beef Noodles in Malaysia . .

Yummy . . :P

Bekok

Drove to this rustic town before, is a small little interesting place, right at a train station.

According to the locals, there is a water fall around 5km away, where some Singaporeans did form groups to venture out there. Need to arrange your own transport, or hired taxi there . .

Tangerika, 1st Oct is possible, then follow by a cycling journey on 2nd Oct (dont forget), would be a bit torn but just exactly satisfy my crazy mind    , see who lies down first.....

Lazy or hyper, I don't care, lizards are lizards, better away from me!
