Jerry's BBQ with draft Stella & Hoeggarden

Post by beenhere10years » Mon, 19 Sep 2005 3:31 pm

Just passing along some good news...

Jerry's has a new location, right above Bombay Woodlands(by its own right very good as well) in Tanglin Shopping Centre. I haven't been to the old lacation in quite a while, but I remember the food was great. Much more authentic than Tony Roma's.

BBQ and good beer on tap, a winning combination.

Ok, BH10Y, I'm going to try Bombay Woodlands since I've seen you recommend it before too. Wait for the Editor's review! :D
It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

It became the new restaurant they opened at Tanglin shopping centre.

Food: great sirloin steak, medium meant really medium done. Good quality meat, tender, juicy and tasteful. The misses took the ribs, very good as well. Marinated in a tasty spicy way, yummie.

But.... my baked potatoe was served cold, the steak was also not too hot. I assume it had been standing ready to serve, but not served then. Told them about the potatoe, they took away the whole plate, then came back with my plate, but no potatoe on it. The they told me the potatoe would come later. Well, it did, about 3 minutes later, hot hot hot.

Service: Hmm... ok, ok. Our appetizer was almost taken away before we finished, no one ever asked whether we liked our food, if there was any other wishes etc etc. But ok.

Price / quality: Good. We paid 100 Sing for a shared appetizer, proks and sirloin steka, 3 glasses of wine, a hoegaarden beer and San Pellegrino mineral water.

Ambience: wrong lighting, felt like I was sitting in a karaoke joint with the orange and red lights.

All in all, worth the money, good food.

Just been to Jerry's at Tanglin Shopping Centre. It was, in a word: awful.

My Southwest Salad came doused in bottled italian dressing, it had strange ingredients (raisins??) and was 99% iceberg lettuce. Every key ingredient was missing:

lime
jack cheese
fresh cilantro
roasted corn
jalepenos
green onion
black olives

It was ghastly. My son ordered the BBQ beef sandwich, the flavor wasn't horrible but the pieces of beef were too large to bite through, and not tender enough. He asked for fries instead of potato salad and got both, I asked for BBQ chicken on my salad and didn't get any.

They must have been overwhelmed, there was one other table occupied and 3 people waiting tables...

Sad, sad, sad. :?
