Cheaper Dentist for Crown

Post by Loops » Fri, 09 Sep 2005 3:01 pm

My dentist says I need a crown and has quoted me over $1,000 for this (the top of the range crown for a front tooth). This still seems very expensive - does anyone know of a decent dentist who could do it cheaper. Thanks

hi,
accordingly to the dentists i have visited, my teeth have some inherent defect from birth (chip-off and decay easily) and recommeded root canal/crowning for a number of them!!!
worying of burning a big hole in my pocket, i checked ard.. in spore, it costs abt S$500 for root canal and S$500 for crowning (not sure if the top range type). in JB, it is about the same amount but in RM.. that's >50% off!
i have started treatment (2nd wk now) at a dental clinic there and so far so good (dentist is skillful). so you may check JB... they are some decent dentists across there... good luck.

I did mine at the Air Force clinic,,actually was part of my interview to go for dental check up. then i had a big hole in my molar teeth, the back one,, and I paid $250 to have it extracted out,,whereby it was so damaged that it broke into brittles..... hhmm.. from what I know the crowning was about $300 i think .u can call 6488 0630..

I think anyone can go cos I was considered normal public.

Dr Ang at Shenton Dental, Republic Plaza. S$500 a crown - I've just had 16 done (yes, 16) and I got a discount on that. He's UK trained, if that's important to you. Very good.
