Stand-up comedy

Post by Kimi » Tue, 06 Sep 2005 8:04 pm

I loved it when I was in The Opera House in Sydney and also when I was in Tokyo.
I remember I saw a poster of a show sponsored by Reuters stamped on a wall of a shop around Holland Village but couldn't find it anymore :(
Anybody knows about it by any chance?

Can't say I have, any good?

There is quite a funny guy called Russel Peters & you can download his act here:

or here if you don't use Bit torrent

I must confess to enjoying Ricky Gervais' new series 'Extras' at the moment

Does anyone know where else you can watch Russell Peters on the internet or where you can purchase his DVD's? I've downloaded his 45 minute show from the internet but I'm looking for more of his stand-up routine. Thanks for the help.

The performers of Tokyo Comedy Store, have regular performances every 4th Thursday of the month at Bar Isn’t It in Roppongi, Tokyo.
You should check it out when you go to Tokyo.
They're funny, but I suppose only to those who have lived in Japan and understand Japanese language and culture.

They have different comedians every month, so haven't seen these particular guys before but have been before.

Wouldn't mind going again though - you get $10 off (so $40) if you book by the 23rd. Any takers?

29th would be good for me assuming 'Ladies night' doesn't mean ladies only!

Certainly doesn't mean 'ladies only' - it just means that us 'laides' get a few drinks on the house :D

Kimi, you up for next Thursday?

They're generally very good. Good food too, btw, and now they also have free WiFi (for geeks like me). BTW, if you're on M1, you can see what's happening there, live, on your mobile, by SMSing "cam 1nitestand" to 8888 through any MMS-enabled mobile. There's a 32 cent charge for this - more information at www.m1webcam.com.sg

Best,

- V.
