Hi, have travelled to Singapore on a number of occassions now, what hurdles are there for opening new business or consultancy in Singapore. I specialise in business risk & emergency preparedness.

Leaving aside the market for your business for the moment, you'll need to file for an Entrepass in order to come over and set up a business. If you have a good business plan, experience, credentials, and the cash to do it, you should get approved. Singapore is looking for more professional services organizations.

As for the market, there are several global risk management companies that have moved into the area. The large MNC's and airlines all employ risk managers... whether they'd look at a botique firm is unknown to me.

I'd guess that you'd need a market niche to make a real go of it.
