I am on my second Casio Exilim - I had the EX-Z4U which I passed on to my sister and now have the EX-Z55. Pros' - compact, fits in pocket, takes good quality photos in normal condtions. The only downside I would say is night and motion shots are tough - you have to play with settings quite a bit to get it right. If you know about photography, this may be a non issue. I am a novice photographer, so playing with the settings is not the best solution for me. I am happy with the camera overall.

In comparison, I had 2 canon cameras prior to the casio's, and those seemed more versatile on the auto setting. I was happy with those cameras as well (1.2 mp and 2.1 mp). No exposure to panasonic, sorry.

Good luck - Jeff

Cannon Ixus without a doubt, Why because Cannon are very serious players in the photographic world. Panasonic and Casio are not, they only manufacture cheap components to use in Cameras, like ccd chipsets, or lcd monitors. But cannon are dedicated players of photography with a reputation at stake, they cannot afford to put crap on the market!!!!

I think if you read the reviews you will see what i mean.
