Well, if you're that good, you would know what to do.
And deciding not to share the info, I suppose is either lack of good will or lack of the tips or errr taking the piss out of somebody which is the same with the former I reckon in this situation *sigh*
And I thought I was beginning to like what you wrote in your posts, what a shame...

flattery gets you everywhere hey?

The problem with trying to diagnose ladies' tech problems over a forum is that more often that not, the chick goes "Help! My internet died!" and you end up running through every possible solution only to find out that she forgot to plug in the keyboard.

True story.

In all seriousness, try to log in as Administrator in safe mode then proceed to change the password on your account.

And one reckons it's only girls whose feet can be swept away with flattery ay.
Well consider it a way to make you well-known in the forum as I carry your nick in every post I wrote! :D

Hmm, *sigh* I guess heaps of the stories are true, but you can't say all...
Wonder if the hypothesis that blokes make better scientists is true then. That would be for another thread...

I just tried and it didn't work.
The thing is I bought that PC from my prev. company before moving here.
And since I moved to another country in such short notice, I didn't get to change the settings yet, or having somebody to do it for me for that matter.
So it is still under the company's domain including the admins' accounts with not-Administrator as the admin's login IDs and different passwords for different IDs even.
My login name there is my ID in the domain but the thing is I reckon it was logged in last time with my old password which I don't remember at all by now, since while I was working in that company, we had the policy to change the password every 3 months I think and I worked there for couple of years.
So now, with no chance of being connected to the company's network to use any of the existing IDs set-up in the PC and not remembering my old password in the domain nor locally, what can I do to login to Windows?
Windows XP btw.
Oh when I tried with safe mode, it was asking the same thing, login ID and password of the domain :(
Cheers in advance really.
I'll treat you errr banana milkshake if we got to meet in one of the forum rendezvous?

Why not just reinstall XP? If the data on the HDD is encrypted you're pretty much screwed anyway.

There are third party software available to reset the password but it's strictly caveat emptor.

I want the data there and it's not encrypted for sure.
Caveat emptor ay? What kind of dodgy thing does it do then?
Considering my PC is already dodgy, I guess it doesn't leave me much choice ay?

Use At You Own Risk

In your situation though, I would remove the HDD from the offending PC, plug it into the more agreeable one and extract the required data. More mucking around but I like Adult Lego. Not to mention less of a security risk.

How to extract though? Cause I thought even after removing the HDD and plugging it to another PC would also still ask me the ID and password which I don't remember since the settings are saved in the dodgy HDD, no?

You would run the 2nd PC off it's own OS and access the offending HDD as a secondary drive.

Cheers for the offer, but no thanks.
It seems I can pay with flattery and I'm giving it with pleasure so it's a win-win situation you see 8)
