For French, I have been told that the Alliance Française (Sarkies Road - next to Newton Circus) is good.

French- Alliance Française

German – Goethe Institut

The courses at these two institutions are more expensive. But they’re more rigorous and you learn more. Their certificates are also recognised all over the world. I’ve been to some schools where the study materials were riddled with errors, the course structure was a mess and there’re hardly any tests or listening comprehension exercises. Best to pay a little more for AF and GI.
