MSN Network Problems

Post by stefania » Sat, 27 Aug 2005 9:04 pm

I have not been able to access MSN or check my email on Hotmail or access my MSN groups since Thursday on my laptop. I have checked all internet options, uninstalled and reinstalled MSN and checked my internet connection. Everything is fine and i can view any other internet site on my laptop except for the MSN network. Anyone know any other way out? I really need to check my email. Any help appreciated.

Try clearing your internet cache and delete all cookies.

What browser are you using to check hotmail? What is the error message MSN gives you when it fails to connect? Sometimes individual accounts SNAFU for no reason, apparently due to "upgrading of the Microsoft network".

How do i clear my internet cache? I dont have any cookies on my laptop as i sign off every program i use.

I use Microsoft Internet Explorer, the error it gives me is that the password or email is wrong which is not true because i have checked and re-checked everytime i try to sign in. Other people who tried signing in could not as well. And everytime i try to check my email, it says the page cannot be displayed. What's SNAFU? Has my laptop gone on a Microsoft strike? :(

From your IE window, click on Tools >> Internet Options then <Delete Cookies> and <Clear History>.

Alternatively switch to Firefox :D

If you have access to another computer, try signing in from there.

Also, does another person's account work on your laptop?

Or you could just send me your ID and p/w and I'll check for you

As i've said, i can sign in anywhere else but my laptop and other people who tried signing in on my laptop could not as well. It seems to have closed down on all chats and email programs.....

Sorry I tend not to pay too much attention when ladies have tech problems.:P

What you want to do now is to run a spyware removal tool like Spybot Search and Destroy or AdAware.

BTW, just because you log out of each program does not mean cookies are not stored on your system.

What do you mean? I downloaded the Spybot Search and Destroy. Installed it and when i click on Check for Problems, it says "You need to install the detection updates first by using the integrated update or the manual updater".
