hi chingchonggril! Im new here and I would like to know how was the training for tiger airways.. I've read that you're already flying.

I would also like to apply but I heard the salary was a little low.. is it true that you only have 800++ as basic? I have a friend that also applied for the job and she was accepted and was now preparing her work pass etc.. but according to her, her salary was 1800.. why is that different from the earlier posts? she told me that some crew get 800 as basic but with different perks like duty free sales commission etc and some girls get 1800 basic without commission. is it true? pls confirm as you are the only one I know who can confirm this bcause my frnd is not yet working. thanks!

Hi meng33,

I believe your friend is referring to the average net salary you will be getting. It's when you add the basic with the commission, etc.etc.

Otherwise, if she's a foreign talent, she could have been issued S Pass with special concessions/conditions.

Tiger Airways is totally not a bad choice!

New hires will be joined by new crew members from Korea, Malaysia, etc. So exciting!

she's a foreign talent alright coz she's from the Philippines and i believe her EP was already approved

and is just waiting for the training. so will you also be joining them this june for the training?

1800 is for foreigners. variable salary are for locals and PRs. yes, u get 800+ as basic if ure directly hired by tiger. for SASS crew, no basic (:

ah so you have a fixed rate if you are a foreigner? and for locals and PR that's when you get paid flying hours. oh i get it thanks for clarifying

so which one has a higher take home pay ?

and i think those with SASS only take home the flying fee and commission and no basic (800+)? oh.. that's too bad..

pay for foreigners and Singaporeans/PRs (direct hire) - pretty much the same. only diff is that Singaporeans/PRs (direct hire) get CPF contributions.

SASS doesnt pay CPF for you. Whatever you earn, you keep.

C--hanel i believe it depends on e crews flying hours. Afriend told me bout it alrdy. Are u interested also? Did u get any interview schedule for tiger now?
