Contract jobs

What normally happens when you decide to quit in a contract job? Will you have to compensate the employer even if you've given them notice? Any input would be great! Thanks!

All depends on the terms and conditions of the contract you signed and circumstances leding to you quiting

Never been on contract, but I think you should reread the contract clauses, if it has the same as permanent job's contract:

Payment in-lieu for notice period less than stipulated one month.

iow, for permanent jobs, one leaves after notifying for one month, otherwise pay up the rest of the days...
might not be the same for contract jobs?
